  • Looking for a refresher on river herring? The Cape Cod Times has an op-ed  from Mary Chaffee, Brewster resident, about the importance of river herring and the work of the Herring Alliance to protet this critical fish species.
  • Are you a fan of the show “Deadliest Catch”? If so, keep a look out for “Wicked Tuna,” a show premiering on the National Geographic channel on April 1 that will follow boats out of Gloucester fishing for bluefin tuna.  The Boston Globe wrote about the show this week, saying that it not only gives a glimpse into what it’s like to fish for and catch a 900-pound animal but that it also illuminates the fishermen’s conservation ethics and teaches viewers about the fishing pressure global bluefin tuna stocks face.
  • The Gloucester Times has a video and recipes to help you make nigiri and sashimi at home. Yum!
