Celebrate Seafood in October

National Seafood Month is almost half over, so it’s time to get eating! Here at we love to eat fresh, local New England seafood, and we think October is the perfect time of year to enjoy our coastal communities. The weather is great (a very warm autumn so far) and the crowds have left, so head down to the water and find some seafood at some fun events.

Although many festivals occur in the summer, we found a few in October that showcase the best New England ocean offerings.

Wellfleet OysterFest is a two-day street party that celebrates the town's famous oysters, clams and shellfishing traditions and brings together locals and visitors alike for a weekend full of hometown flavor and big time fun. (Photo credit: Wellfleet SPAT)
